The Official 2010 Interior and Color Trends Sneak Peek

Interior Design: The Official 2010 Interior and Color Trends Sneak Peek

Oh yes it is here: 2010. As we say farewell to 2009 we can look with excitement at what 2010 holds for interior - and exterior - design trends.

2010 promises a revival in art deco styles infused with modern touches, an array of very different colors, and a huge increase in outside patio and garden design.

Color palettes will become more vibrant with yellows, greens, shades of purples, oranges, aqua, turquoise, and of course earthy tones and accents.

2010 is going to be a year focused on energy conservation and the climate. In 2010 earthy colors and recycled products such as bamboo flooring, cotton, etc will become even more popular. One great idea is to think about the jungle. Use greens, whites, dark browns, and hints of orange to inspire your earthy home decor.

There is also a return to a romantic style. So shades of purple, very light pinks, pastels and cremes in moderation will be seen with candles, sheers, french antiques, and elegant accents.

And of course there is the oranges and reds you can work in...

Aqua and Turquoise....

The key to interior design in 2010 is to be earth friendly, global and soft. Be careful to not go too 'shabby chic'...try to think more art deco. Always consult an interior designer and real estate agent before doing any new renovations to your home. They will help give you an idea on what is in style and what your budget should be.

Interior Inspirations with Anna French & the Maybach 57 Zeppelin

Interior Designer Spotlight: Anna French
Road Trip: the 2010 Maybach 57 Zeppelin

Interior Designer Spotlight: Anna French

One of my favorite pattern makers for fabric and wallpapers is Anna French. She is originally from London but in the 1970s moved with her husband to Scotland. They lived in the top floor of a Victorian lace mill and that is when she decided to start making lace and the business began. Currently Anna French's lace, wallpapers, and fabrics are sold worldwide.

Her patterns have a very traditional feel but combine cutting edge trends to give you a very unique style that is perfect for almost any space. But enough of my rambling, here are some examples of her work (and yes, that is a metallic background on the patterns!):

Here are some samples of her gorgeous lace patterns:

Road Trip: the 2010 Maybach 57 Zeppelin

To put it as Top Gear(BBC) does, the Maybach Zeppelin is dictator-chic. This luxury touring car is yet again proof of why Mercedes really is the best at doing luxury. The 57 has a 'extended cab' creating room for your legs and luxury features such silver wine flutes, tv screens, custom wood work, and don't forget about the optional fragrance (scent) upgrade.  Everything about this car screams luxury, but don't think for one second this car doesn't haul....well it hauls - especially for such a large car.

If you pop the hood and check it out you will find a 6.0 liter Twin-turbocharged AMG-sourced V12. It has 640 hp, goes 0-100 is 4.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 177 mph.

Delicious. This lovely dictator-chic car can be yours for a mere base price of 406,000 euros or about $582,998 US dollars.
